CANADIAN BASEBALL LEGEND DESIGNATED FOR ASSIGNMENT

Submitted by on Thursday, 28 July 2011

Matt Stairs baseball career could be coming to an end.  The Washington Nationals designated him for assignment the other day. If his career is over it was an amazing career. He has played 1895 games starting in 1992 with the Montreal Expos. Since he has played for Boston, Oakland, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Detroit, Toronto, Philadelphia, San Diego and now Washington. He is currently less than 100 games from breaking the all-time Canadian games played record held by Larry Walker with 1988. Let’s hope a team picks him up and he continues his long career.
