GREATEST CANADIAN HITTER EVER LARRY WALKER GETS 20.3%

Larry Walker2009 Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame Inductee and greatest hitter from Canada ever Larry Walker received 20.3% of the vote for Cooperstown today as it was his first year on the ballot.

The only Canadian to be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown is the great Fergie Jenkins as he was inducted in 1991.

Other Canadians to receive votes for Cooperstown include:

Jimmy Archer (1937 – 6 votes, 1938 – 7 votes, 1939 – 3 votes)

Larry McLean (1937 – 1 vote)

George Selkirk (1948 – 1 vote, 1949 – 1 vote, 1950 – 1 vote, 1951 – 2 votes, 1952 – 1 vote, 1953 – 1 vote)

John Hiller (1986 – 11 votes)

Terry Puhl (1997 – 1 vote).
