MONTREAL — Former Expos catcher Gary Carter is likely suffering from inoperable Grade 4 glioblastoma, his daughter confirmed in an online journal entry on Saturday.

Doctors are “99 per cent” certain that her father has the disease, Kimmy Bloemers wrote in the message posted just after 10 p.m.

Glioblastoma affects the brain and central nervous system, and is characterized by a fast-growing malignant brain tumour (or tumours).
