We thought this would be the best time of year to remind you about our 2012 Membership Drive which is being launched, as we make our way through the Major League playoffs, wishing the best fortune possible for fellow Canucks John Axford, George Kottaras, Taylor Green, Dave McKay, Doug Melvin and Gord Ash who are left playing for the World Series title.

At the time of this writing, Team Canada, ranked 8th world-wide, and is off to the 2nd round at the World Cup in Panama. They just happen to be coached by inductees Ernie Whitt, Larry Walker and Bernie Soulliere.

Our candidate list for the 2011 Tip O’Neill Award is strong when you look at the tremendous seasons had by Joey Votto, Axford, Russell Martin, Ryan Dempster, Jason Bay, Erik Bedard, Justin Morneau, Jessie Crain, and don’t forget rookie-extraordinaire Brett Lawrie of the uprising Toronto Blue Jays!

These events give us solace and hope at the conclusion of a sad year whereby we have witnessed the passing of inductees, Ron Piche, Reno Bertoia, Rev. Ronald Cullen, Billy Harris, Sparky Anderson, as well as dear friends of the Hall Gene Dziadura and Randy Echlin.

The purpose of our existence has never been more evident, as the contributions by these amazing men to the growth and development in baseball need to be remembered and shared for generations to come. Their legacies will remain in our museum forever – otherwise, who would be telling their stories?

We hope you’ve enjoyed the Ball Hall’s 500+ events and our progress throughout 2011 as well as a bonus of receiving the Fergie, Jenkins, Larry Walker and Cito Gaston personally autographed Holidays cards over the past three years. Oh, and we’re confident you’ll be pleased with who is sending you Season’s Greetings this year too!

We really appreciate your support through being a member, and we trust that we can count on you joining our team for 2012, which is already shaping up to be an exciting year for the Ball Hall.

Please mark your calendar for Saturday, June 23rd for our 2012 Induction Ceremony. We’ll be hosting our 16th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic the day before, and our 4th Annual Celebrity Slo-Pitch game on Thursday, June 21st.

Please complete the membership form and remember too that we provide income tax receipts to all levels of membership now. Lastly, if you have influence at your place of employment or service club, we would naturally appreciate you promoting our Grand Slam Membership option. We also have advertising options for corporate Canada both in our Annual Program/Yearbook as well as on the outfield fence of St. Marys Cement Company Field and Rotary Field. In addition, please consider sponsoring a shade tree or a bench surrounding Canada’s Field of Dreams to recognize someone special.
