TWO CANADIANS ADVANCE TO SECOND ROUND OF THE PLAYOFFS
Submitted by Scott on Wednesday, 21 October 2009

Five started and only two survived the first round as Boston’s Jason Bay, Minnesota’s Jesse Crain and St. Louis’s Blake Hawksworth all saw first round exists in the 2009 playoffs. Only Russell Martin of the Dodgers and Matt Stairs of the Phillies are still vying for the World Series trophy. Only 15 Canadians have played in the World Series with the last being Matt Stairs in 2008 with Philadelphia.
