Apr\u00e8s quelques brefs s\u00e9jours avec l\u2019\u00e9quipe en 1941 et 1943, Robertson a fait son service militaire pendant deux ans, avant de reprendre sa carri\u00e8re dans les Majeures et devenir un r\u00e9gulier \u00e0 Washington pendant pr\u00e8s de sept saisons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il a connu sa meilleure campagne en 1949, alors qu\u2019il a cogn\u00e9 11 circuits et vol\u00e9 10 buts (5e meilleur dans la Ligue am\u00e9ricaine). Le polyvalent joueur canadien (il pouvait jouer comme voltigeur, deuxi\u00e8me but, troisi\u00e8me but et arr\u00eat-court) jouera deux saisons de plus dans la capitale am\u00e9ricaine avant de terminer sa carri\u00e8re avec les Athletics de Philadelphie en 1952. Ses 597 matchs le place au premier rang chez les joueurs originaires du Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s sa carri\u00e8re de joueur, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 directeur chez les Senators et il a conserv\u00e9 ce poste jusqu\u2019au d\u00e9m\u00e9nagement de l\u2019\u00e9quipe au Minnesota en 1961. En 1966, les Twins l\u2019ont nomm\u00e9 vice-pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019\u00e9quipe et directeur des clubs fermes.
