Deux ans plus tard, il a d\u00e9but\u00e9 dans les Petites ligues et en 1956, il officiait des parties de niveau senior masculin. Reconnu pour son sens de l\u2019humour et de justice, Hudlin est devenu l\u2019un des officiels les plus respect\u00e9s de la Colombie-Britannique et a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019association des arbitres de Victoria en 1963. Il est demeur\u00e9 \u00e0 ce poste jusqu\u2019en 1974, lorsqu\u2019il a fond\u00e9 et pr\u00e9sid\u00e9 l\u2019association des arbitres de la Colombie-Britannique. Il y a \u00e9t\u00e9 le pr\u00e9sident pendant cinq ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En cours de route, il est devenu le premier officiel venant de l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur des \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 travailler lors des Petites s\u00e9ries mondiales, en 1967, \u00e0 Williamsport (PA). Sept ans plus tard, il a de nouveau \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9, et devenait le premier officiel international \u00e0 vivre l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement deux fois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hudlin a \u00e9galement offici\u00e9 lors de cinq championnats canadiens des Petites ligues (1966-67, 1973, 1981 et 1987), deux fois la S\u00e9rie mondiale des Petites ligues seniors \u00e0 Gary (IN., 1968 et 1974) et les jeux d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 de la Colombie-Britannique en 1988. Cette m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, il a re\u00e7u une m\u00e9daille pour son d\u00e9vouement exemplaire envers la communaut\u00e9 en tant qu\u2019officiel sportif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est en 1992 qu\u2019il a offici\u00e9 son dernier match de Petites ligues. Six ans plus tard, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 intronis\u00e9 au Temple de la renomm\u00e9e du sport de Victoria et quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard au Temple de la renomm\u00e9e de l\u2019association des arbitres de la Colombie-Britannique. Il est aussi un membre honoraire de l\u2019association du baseball de Victoria (depuis 1983), du club des anciens des Petites s\u00e9ries mondiales (1984), de l\u2019association des arbitres de la Colombie-Britannique (1988) et des Petites ligues de la Colombie-Britannique (1989). Il est \u00e9galement l\u2019un des fondateurs de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de l\u2019histoire des Noirs de la Colombie-Britannique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 le 5 janvier 2014 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de 91 ans.
