Il a travaill\u00e9 fort et a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9compens\u00e9 alors qu\u2019il a \u00e9t\u00e9 autoris\u00e9 \u00e0 lancer de nouveau en juin 1972. Son endurance n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 touch\u00e9 comme en font foi ses 65 matchs jou\u00e9s en 1973, ses 10 victoires, sa petite MPM de 1,44 et ses 38 sauvetages (un record des Ligues majeures \u00e0 ce moment). Ces chiffres sont encore aujourd\u2019hui consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme les meilleurs pour une saison par un releveur. Il avait d\u2019ailleurs \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 le releveur de l\u2019ann\u00e9e dans la Ligue am\u00e9ricaine et avait termin\u00e9 quatri\u00e8me dans la course au Cy Young et au joueur le plus utile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A member of the All-Time Detroit Tigers\u2019 All-Star Team, Hiller would toe the big league rubber for 15 seasons, registering 87 victories, 125 saves and a career ERA of 2.83.
