Richard B\u00e9lec a \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u2019un des organisateurs les plus en vue du baseball au Qu\u00e9bec pendant plus de 50 ans. Apr\u00e8s avoir aid\u00e9 \u00e0 la fondation de Baseball Qu\u00e9bec, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019organisme \u00e0 deux reprises (1970 \u00e0 1972 et de 1980 \u00e0 1994). Il a aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sident de la Ligue de baseball junior \u00e9lite du Qu\u00e9bec pendant 16 ans. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Il a \u00e9galement contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 la naissance de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie de baseball du Canada (ABC), un programme permettant aux joueurs de baseball de poursuivre leurs \u00e9tudes tout en pratiquant leur sport au plus haut niveau. \u00c9ric Gagn\u00e9 est l\u2019un des dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s du programme. \u00c0 la t\u00eate de Baseball Qu\u00e9bec, B\u00e9lec collaborait \u00e9troitement avec les Expos de Montr\u00e9al.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Au niveau national, B\u00e9lec a \u00e9t\u00e9 vice-pr\u00e9sident chez Baseball Canada pendant 14 ans avant de devenir pr\u00e9sident de la f\u00e9d\u00e9ration de 1994 \u00e0 1996. Il a aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 directeur et pr\u00e9sident de la commission jeunesse de la f\u00e9d\u00e9ration internationale de baseball (IBAF) pendant 10 ans. Au sein de l\u2019IBAF, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 coordonnateur de plusieurs championnats du monde et des Coupes intercontinentales disput\u00e9es \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al et Moncton. Apr\u00e8s autant d\u2019implication, B\u00e9lec a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 \u00e0 deux reprises le b\u00e9n\u00e9vole de l\u2019ann\u00e9e par Sports-Qu\u00e9bec et \u00e9lu au Temple de la renomm\u00e9e de Baseball Qu\u00e9bec en 2000.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
