Seattle Mariners first baseman Josh Naylor (Mississauga, ON) <\/strong>will be presented with the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum\u2019s 2025 Tip O\u2019Neill Award in a ceremony prior to the Toronto Blue Jays game at the Rogers Centre on Friday, August 28. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Le Temple situ\u00e9 \u00e0 St. Marys, en Ontario, d\u00e9cerne chaque ann\u00e9e ce prix au joueur canadien jug\u00e9 excellent dans ses r\u00e9alisations individuelles et sa contribution \u00e0 l'\u00e9quipe, tout en adh\u00e9rant aux id\u00e9aux les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s du baseball. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Naylor, qui a domin\u00e9 les joueurs canadiens des Majeures dans plusieurs cat\u00e9gories offensives en 2025, remporte ce prix pour la deuxi\u00e8me fois de sa carri\u00e8re. Il avait aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 le laur\u00e9at en 2023.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Il a devanc\u00e9 des concurrents de fort calibre tel que Nick Pivetta (Victoria, C.-B.), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Montr\u00e9al, QC) et Cade Smith (Abbotsford, C.-B.) pour remporter cet honneur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u00ab Josh Naylor a \u00e9t\u00e9 exceptionnel tant pendant la saison r\u00e9guli\u00e8re 2025 que pendant les s\u00e9ries \u00e9liminatoires.  Partageant sa saison entre les Diamondbacks de l'Arizona et les Mariners, Naylor a domin\u00e9 tous les joueurs canadiens de la MLB pour la moyenne au b\u00e2ton (,295), les points produits (92) et les buts vol\u00e9s (30). Il a \u00e9galement termin\u00e9 deuxi\u00e8me parmi les joueurs canadiens pour les coups s\u00fbrs (160), les points marqu\u00e9s (81), les coups de circuit (20), les doubles (29) et les buts sur balles (48).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Naylor a connu son meilleur mois en septembre, alors que les Mariners \u00e9taient dans la lutte pour le titre de la division Ouest de la Ligue am\u00e9ricaine. Il a alors frapp\u00e9 pour ,364 avec une moyenne de puissance de ,982 en 22 matchs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 En 2025, il est \u00e9galement devenu le quatri\u00e8me joueur de premier but de l'histoire de la MLB et le deuxi\u00e8me Canadien \u00e0 enregistrer 20 coups de circuit et 30 buts vol\u00e9s au cours de la m\u00eame saison (Larry Walker (Maple Ridge, C.-B.) a \u00e9t\u00e9 le premier avec les Rockies du Colorado en 1997).  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 En 12 parties des s\u00e9ries, Naylor a frapp\u00e9 pour ,340, avec une moyenne de puissance de ,966, et a men\u00e9 les Mariners avec 16 coups s\u00fbrs. Il a \u00e9galement \u00e9tabli plusieurs records canadiens en s\u00e9ries, notamment en devenant le premier Canadien \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser quatre matchs avec trois coups s\u00fbrs dans la m\u00eame ronde \u00e9liminatoire. Lors du deuxi\u00e8me match de la s\u00e9rie de championnat de la Ligue am\u00e9ricaine, il a frapp\u00e9 un coup de circuit de deux points, devenant ainsi le premier Canadien \u00e0 frapper un coup de circuit contre les Blue Jays au Canada en s\u00e9ries.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 De semaine en semaine, Naylor est devenu l'un des joueurs pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9s des fans des Mariners et, \u00e0 la fin de la saison, l'\u00e9quipe lui a fait signer un nouveau contrat de cinq ans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

La saison 2025 \u00e9tait la septi\u00e8me de Naylor dans les ligues majeures. Apr\u00e8s avoir peaufin\u00e9 ses talents avec les Blue Jays de l'Ontario et l'\u00e9quipe nationale junior, Naylor a \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9 12th<\/sup> au total, par les Marlins de Miami, lors du rep\u00eachage de 2015.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hall\u2019s Tip O\u2019Neill Award is named after Woodstock, Ont., native\u00a0James\u00a0\u201cTip\u201d O\u2019Neill, who was one of Major League Baseball\u2019s first legitimate stars. With the American Association\u2019s St. Louis Browns in 1887, O\u2019Neill set big league records in hits, doubles, slugging\u00a0percentage\u00a0and total bases, while compiling a major league record .492 batting average. Walks were counted as hits in 1887, but if O\u2019Neill\u2019s average\u00a0was\u00a0calculated by today\u2019s standards, it would be .435.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
