For only the second time in MLB post season history two Canadians will faceoff in the World Series. Back in 2007 Eric Gagne played for Boston as they beat Jeff Francis and his Colorado Rockies.
Ryan Dempster and John Axford will become the 16th and 17th Canadians to play in the World Series since it officially started in 1903. Only 9 Canadians have won the World Series! They include Bill O’Neill (1906), George Gibson (1909), Jack Graney (1920), George Selkirk (1936, 37, 38, 39 41), Ron Taylor (1964, 69), John Hiller (1968), Rob Butler (1993), Eric Gagne (2007), Matt Stairs (2008).
