Panama City, Panama-Canada and the United States will both be given bronze medals following the cancellation of the bronze medal game at the 39e IBAF World Cup.
Heavy rain started to fall prior to the 11am CT start time and lasted nearly two hours. Every effort was made to play the game but once the rain stopped it was determined by tournament officials that the field was in no condition to play.
“Obviously we would have preferred to win the medal by playing the game on the field,” said Canadian Manager, Ernie Whitt. “I am very proud of this group and the way in which they performed during the tournament. This is a great day for Baseball Canada.”
