A former Toronto Blue Jays president and an advocate of Japanese-Canadian culture will receive honourary degrees from York University this month.
Paul Beeston will receive an Honourary Doctor of Laws Wednesday, Oct. 19 during a ceremony at Glendon College, while York alumnae Janice Fukakusa will receive the same honour Friday, Oct. 21 at the Schulich School of Business.
“Paul Beeston and Janice Fukakusa have been trailblazers in their respective fields, each possessing a strong sense of community spirit and drive that extends to the remarkable work they do to give back to their communities through volunteer service and philanthropy,” York University President and Vice-Chancellor Mamdouh Shoukri said in a release.
