1980

This bat was made for Toronto Blue Jays season ticket holders and commemorates Alfredo Griffin as the Most Valuable Player in 1979. In addition to being the 1979 MVP, Alfredo Griffin was also Rookie of the Year in 1979 and was the first Toronto Blue Jays player to ever win Rookie of the Year. Griffin played for the Toronto Blue Jays from 1979-1984 and was an All-Star in 1984. Griffin returned to the Toronto Blue Jays in 1992 and was a part of both the 1992 and 1993 World Series teams. In Game 6 of the 1993 World Series, Griffin was on deck when Joe Carter hit the World Series winning home run. This was the last game of Griffin’s career, as he retired following this World Series.
