This ball is from Jeff Francis’ first strikeout in his Major League Baseball career. This came during his MLB debut on August 25, 2004. Francis made his debut with the Colorado Rockies against the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field in Atlanta, Georgia. Francis’ father wrote an inscription on the ball, noting its significance. Francis was a first-round draft pick by the Colorado Rockies and he pitched for the team from 2004 – 2010, missing only the 2009 season while recovering from surgery on his shoulder. Francis played in Major League Baseball from 2004 until 2015, spending his last season with the Toronto Blue Jays.
