Jim Fanning Induction Bat (Chewed)

Bat

2000

Jim Fanning was an American-Canadian catcher, manager, and the first general manager of the Montreal Expos. Fanning was involved with the Expos for over 25 years in a variety of ways between 1969-1984. Fanning was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000 and received his Canadian citizenship in 2012.

This bat was used for promotion of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame’s 2000 Induction Ceremony where Fanning was inducted. The bat was brought to an animal sanctuary where a beaver chewed the barrel. This bat was then used in promotional posters, showing a beaver holding the bat.
