In September 2021, this memorial was unveiled on the grounds of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. The silhouette is of Derek Aucoin, a former pitcher who played for the Montreal Expos in his native province of Quebec. Aucoin joined the board of directors of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2018. He was a passionate supporter of baseball at all levels of the game, improving the CBHFM community by his contributions.

Aucoin passed away in late 2020 following a battle with brain cancer. This memorial was installed to honour Derek Aucoin for the man and the player that he was. Aucoin’s wife and son made the trip from Montreal to be on hand when the memorial was revealed.

The Derek Aucoin Memorial was placed so that it faces down the line of the fence to the bullpen. This way he can continue to keep an eye on up-and-coming pitching talent and people enjoying the game he loved.
