The LA Dodgers will name Farhan Zaidi their new general manager this week and he will become the sixth Canadian to be a GM in the big leagues.

The other five Canadian GM’s are George Selkirk with the Washington Senators from 1962-68; Murray Cook with the NY Yankees from 1983-84, Montreal Expos from 1984-87 and Cincinnati Reds from 1988-89; Doug Melvin with the Texas Rangers from 1994-2001 and Milwaukee Brewers from 2002-present; Gord Ash with the Toronto Blue Jays from 1994-2001 and Alex Anthopoulos with the Toronto Blue Jays from 2009-present.
George, Murray and Doug are all Inductees into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
