1977 Exhibition Stadium

Base

1977

This base was a third base from the Toronto Blue Jays first season at Exhibition Stadium in 1977. The Toronto Blue Jays played their first twelve seasons at Exhibition Stadium. Due to its location right on Lake Ontario, it was a very cold place to play baseball, particularly at the beginning and the end of the season. The first Toronto Blue Jays game played at Exhibition Stadium was on April 7th, 1977, and the field was covered with snow, which fell for the first three innings. The Blue Jays borrowed a Zamboni from the Toronto Maple Leafs to clear the infield until the snow stopped.
