In 2015 Russell Martin finally caught and passed Hall of Famer George Gibson for games played by a Canadian catcher in MLB history. He set the record on June 8, 2015 by playing in game 1214 of his career and he donated his batting gloves to the Hall of Fame from that game.
Russell finished the season with 1292 career games played and is now ranked number 1 for career Canadian catchers in games, at-bats, runs, hits, doubles, homeruns, RBI’s, walks, stolen bases, strikeouts, total bases and OBP. The bat in the photo was used by Russell during his 2015 season.
