OAKLAND — Trystan Magnuson has come a long way since high school and college.
The towering right-handed pitcher was cut from the junior varsity team at duPont Manual High School in Louisville, Ky., and was a walk-on as a freshman at the University of Louisville in 2003. Now, he’s in the Majors, and he made his Major League debut Tuesday night in the A’s 14-0 thrashing of the Angels.
“I never thought I’d get here, let alone actually record an out in the big leagues,” Magnuson said. “It’s pretty awesome.”
