U11 Ayr Flamingos
Congratulations to this week’s Team of the Week: the U11 Ayr Flamingos!
This inspiring team has blazed a trail for young female athletes and softball players in their community, proving once again that “If you build it, they will come”.
This roster includes the original Flamingo teammates who came together last season to kickstart the whole Flamingo program, creating a softball team so that they had a place to play. The group also hosted a “Girls Night Out” event to generate interest in softball within their community, and teach the basics to anyone who came out. The Flamingos themselves have led the way in growing their sport, acting as mentors and coaches to the Learn to Play and U7 Flamingo divisions. Their leadership and passion for their sport have paid off enormously, as girls’ registrations in Ayr Minor Softball have doubled this season!
These incredible teammates needed a place to play so they created that, and have since embraced so many more players into Ayr Minor Softball. Congratulations, Flamingos, on being selected as this week’s Team of the Week! You are so, so deserving!
Go Flamingos, go!!
