Induction weekend a great success
The 2023 induction weekend was a wealth of success with fabulous weather, great events, two wonderful ceremonies and memorable speeches.
The Opening Pitch at Left Field Brewery was the best yet. A sold out event in Toronto to kick-off induction weekend was a fun relaxing meet and greet with our new inductees, plus special guests Fergie Jenkins and Jamie Campbell.
The sold out 25th annual Celebrity Golf Classic and Banquet took place at the St. Marys Golf and Country Club on June 16th and the weather was perfect and the round of golf was greatly enjoyed by the 36 teams. The St. Marys Cement Company corporate team along with Hall of Famer John Olerud took home to championship trophy shooting 14 under par.
The morning of June 17th started off extra special this year with the naming of our road through the 32 acre site “Ferguson Jenkins Way”. The legendary Fergie Jenkins along with his wife Kathy, Board Chair Jeremy Diamond and Town Councilor Rob Edney unveiled the roadway name.
Later in the afternoon the 2023 Induction Ceremony took place for Jesse Barfield, Denis Boucher, Rich Harden and Joe Wiwchar. Plus we honoured 2020 Hall of Famers John Olerud and Jacques Doucet. We were also able to honour 2022 Jack Graney award winner Richard Milo and the 2022 and 2023 Randy Echlin Lifetime Volunteer award recipients Christine Douglas and Kevin Glew.
