While playing for the Seattle Mariners, Paxton pitched a no-hitter against the Toronto Blue Jays, becoming the first Canadian MLB pitcher to throw a no-hitter in Canada. Paxton was the 2018 winner of the Tip O’Neill Award, presented annually by the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
