Introduction: Baseball Jerseys in our collection
On November 8, 2021, what would’ve been Marty Healy’s 44th birthday, his family journeyed to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum to donate his vast collection of jerseys worn by Canadian professional baseball players, and by Canadian teams. Healy, who co-authored a book about George Gibson and had an encyclopedic knowledge of Canadian major league players, passed away on September 11, 2020 after a long battle with congestive heart failure.
A strong supporter of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Healy was also an enthusiastic participant at the annual Canadian Baseball History Conference and a diehard Toronto Blue Jays fan. His passion for Canadian major leaguers inspired him to assemble a collection of 93 game-worn jerseys and pants, some dating as early as 1964. The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum would like to thank the Healy family for their generous donation of Marty Healy’s collection.
The following twenty jerseys were selected from among Marty Healy’s collection, showcasing players from across Canada.
