Base

2002

This base was used at second base in a Montreal Expos game on September 29th, 2002, hosting the Cincinnati Reds. This game had the third largest crowd for a Montreal Expos home game at Olympic Stadium in 2002. The Expos had declining attendance the 2002 season and there was speculation that the team could be relocated for the 2003 season – meaning at the time, this game was believed to possibly be the final home game for the Montreal Expos. Montreal won this game 7-2 and finished the season on a four game win streak. The Expos finished second in the National League East with an 83-79 record. The Montreal Expos were owned by Major League Baseball from 2002 until 2004, their final three seasons.
