Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum set to open on July 20
St. Marys, Ont. – The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is excited to announce that it will open for the season on Tuesday, July 20.
“On behalf of our board of directors and our staff, I’m looking forward to welcoming visitors back to St. Marys to celebrate the rich history of baseball in this country,” said Scott Crawford, the Hall’s director of operations. “When the doors open this July, it will mark the start of our 24th season in St. Marys.”
Beginning on July 20, the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays (and on the holiday Monday in August) until August 31. The museum will also be open for reduced hours in September and October. More information on those hours will be posted on the Hall’s website. No advanced ticket purchase is needed as tickets can be purchased at the door.
Renovated in 2018, the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum houses dozens of one-of-a-kind artifacts which tell the story of Canada’s rich baseball history. The museum also features interactive exhibits, a gift shop and the Centre for Canadian Baseball Research, the country’s leading baseball resource centre.
The museum is also located on a picturesque 32-acre site that includes outdoor walking trails and four premier baseball fields.
As the country continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of its visitors. Visitors will be required to wear face masks and answer COVID-19 related questions provided by the local Health Unit prior to entry. While inside, visitors will notice floor markings that promote social distancing. Throughout each day, the number of visitors will also be monitored and restricted if necessary and the building will be cleaned extensively.
“Like it has been for many Canadians, this has been a challenging time for the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame,” said Crawford. “But we look forward to opening our doors and talking baseball again with our visitors, members and loyal supporters.”
