Over the past year we have been fortunate to receive some truly fantastic artifacts into the CBHFM collection! Our collection contains over 16,000 artifacts from throughout the history of Canadian baseball, including uniforms, bases, baseballs, bats, gloves, photographs, and more. Some of these objects date back to the mid-1800s and the early days of Canadian baseball, such as the trophy earned by the 1877 London Tecumsehs, while many are artifacts that were in use as history was being made, such as the batting helmet worn by Joe Carter as he walked off the 1993 World Series for the Blue Jays.
We were fortunate to receive donations from over 100 individuals, teams, players and professionals this year, all of which added up to more than 1,700 new artifacts for the collection. Some of the most exciting artifacts that we received this year were those which came from the world of the Toronto Blue Jays. The Jays had a truly phenomenal run this year, taking it all the way to Game 7 of the World Series!
With 2025 coming to a close shortly after the World Series ended, we wanted to highlight just a few of the incredible artifacts which arrived in our collection this year from the Toronto Blue Jays’ incredible 2025 season. Go Jays Go!
Opening Day Base from the Rogers Centre | March 27, 2025
This base was in place during innings one through three on Opening Day of the 2025 season where it all started… and it didn’t start well! At home in front of 40,700 fans, the Blue Jays fell 12-2 to the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles were led by “Mr. Opening Day”, Canadian, Tyler O’Neill (Maple Ridge, BC) who for the sixth season in a row, crushed a home run on the first Day of the season. This base was in place when O’Neill made the round-trip that extended his own record. The difficult start gave no hint of the incredible season that was to come for the Blue Jays.

Bo Bichette Breaks Franchise Record for Consecutive At Bats with a Hit
July 28, 2025
For decades the Blue Jays franchise record for consecutive at bats with a hit had stood at eight. It was a number shared by four Blue Jays greats: Tony Fernández, Rance Mulliniks, Paul Molitor and Adam Lind. On July 28, 2025, Bo Bichette finally surpassed that number, setting a new record at nine consecutive at bats with a hit. On July 27, Bichette went five for five with four singles and a double against the Detroit Tigers. The following day, the Jays were in Baltimore to face the Orioles, and with each subsequent at bat, Bichette drew closer to tying the franchise record. On his eighth at bat, Bichette stepped up to the plate and knocked a single into centerfield to tie the record. With history on the line, Bichette went into his fourth at bat of the day, and drilled his fourth single into left field. The streak ended on his fifth and final at bat of the game with a ground out, but the record was set at nine consecutive at bats with a hit. This baseball was thrown during Bichette’s sixth at bat in the streak, on July 28, 2025 in the top of the second inning.
Trey Yesavage Breaks Franchise Record for Strikeouts in a Postseason Game

Trey Yesavage had a remarkable debut season. After being drafted out of college in 2024, Yesavage spent time in every level of the Jays organization throughout the 2025 season before making his MLB debut on September 15, 2025. In that game on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays, Yesavage struck out nine batters over five innings: a franchise record for a starter making his MLB debut. After making just three regular season starts, Yesavage was handed the ball for Game 2 of the ALDS against the Yankees. On October 5, Yesavage turned in one of the most dominant pitching performances in Blue Jays postseason history, striking out eleven Yankee batters over 5.1 innings of no-hit baseball. The feat blew away the previous franchise record for postseason strikeouts in a game of eight, which had been shared by legendary Blue Jays pitchers, Dave Stieb, Juan Guzmán, and David Price. This ball was thrown by Yesavage in the top of the 4th inning to Aaron Judge, who became the first strikeout of the inning. With a debut like this, we can’t wait to see what Yesavage does next season!

Pitchers Break Franchise Record for Strikeouts in a 9-Inning Game
April 16, 2025
On April 16, 2025, the Blue Jays pitching staff broke the franchise record for strikeouts in a nine-inning game when five pitchers recorded 19 Ks in a 3-1 win at home over the Atlanta Braves. Chris Bassitt was the game’s starter who eventually took the win as well. He kicked things off by striking out ten batters over five complete innings. This ball was used to record the ninth of Bassitt’s ten strikeouts, thrown to Michael Harris II in the top of the fifth inning. Following after Bassitt, Brendon Little pitched the sixth, striking out three. Nick Sandlin pitched two thirds of the seventh inning, recording one strikeout before being pulled for Yimi García. García pitched one and a third with four strikeouts before Jeff Hoffman entered to finish the game in the ninth. Hoffman added the 19th and final strikeout to end the game, capping off a dominant, record-breaking team pitching performance.
Blue Jays Set New Franchise Record for Consecutive Home Wins
July 21, 2025
On July 21, 2025, the Toronto Blue Jays set a new franchise record for consecutive wins at home with a 4-1 triumph over the Yankees. The win came off a tremendous start by Blue Jays ace, Kevin Gausman, who contributed seven complete innings of one-run baseball, including eight strikeouts. Despite Gausman’s dominance, the Blue Jays’ offence could not get anything going, and the score remained at zeroes through three innings. Gausman’s one earned run came off a Giancarlo Stanton solo shot in the top of the fourth inning, but in the fifth the Toronto bats finally came alive to support their ace. With two runners on base, Bo Bichette knocked a two-RBI double, starting off what would be a four-run inning. After Gausman exited the game at the end of the seventh, the bullpen closed the door on the Yankees offence, with Jeff Hoffman getting the save. The Blue Jays fell in the next game to the Yankees, but the eleven consecutive home wins set a new franchise record.
2025 Postseason
Second Base from Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s Grand Slam | October 5, 2025
With the Toronto Blue Jays winning the AL East, they secured a bye through to the ALDS. There were many thrilling moments of fall baseball on display throughout the Jays’ entire postseason run, but few more so than Vladimir Guerrero Jr.’s first career postseason Grand Slam! During Game 2 of the ALDS against the Yankees, Guerrero stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the fourth with Andrés Giménez, Myles Straw, and George Springer all already on base. Relief pitcher Will Warren tossed a ball over the plate which Guerrero clobbered over the left field wall, putting the Jays up 9-0. This base was in place at second when that homerun was hit, and all four batters rounded for home. The Jays won the game by a score of 13-7, and went on to eliminate the Yankees in four games.
Although this was the first postseason Grand Slam in franchise history, it would not be the last. In Game 1 of the World Series on October 24, Addison Barger hit the first pinch hit Grand Slam in World Series history!
Second Base from George Springer's ALCS Game 7 Home Run | October 20, 2025
The American League Championship was an incredibly exciting series, especially for fans of Canadian baseball, with Josh Naylor (Mississauga, ON) and Matt Brash (Kingston, ON) in the game for Seattle, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Montreal, QC) representing the Canadians for Toronto. But the most thrilling moment of the whole series came in Game 7 off the bat of George Springer. With the Jays down 3-1, Springer came up to bat in the bottom of the seventh, and smashed a three-run homerun to put the Jays in front by one. They managed to hold on to secure the win and their first trip to the World Series in 32 years.
2025 World Series Firsts
First World Series Hit Since 1993
October 24, 2025
The first recorded hit in the 2025 World Series came courtesy of Bo Bichette in the bottom of the first inning. Bichette was batting fourth in the lineup behind Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and after Guerrero walked, Bichette stepped up to the plate to drill a single into right field. What made the hit even more impressive was that Bichette had missed the past two postseason series due to injury, returning just in time for Game 1 of the World Series. It was the first World Series hit for a Blue Jay since Joe Carter’s walk-off World Series-winning home run of 1993.

The first recorded win in the 2025 World Series was awarded to Seranthony Domínguez, who came on in the fifth inning to pitch in relief. He pitched 1.1 innings and recorded 2 strikeouts in the 11-4 Blue Jays win. It was the first World Series win in 32 years. Domínguez would pitch in Games 1, 3, 5, 6 and 7 throughout the rest of the 2025 World Series.
World Series Records
Longest Game in World Series History by Innings (Tie)
October 27, 2025
Game 3 of the 2025 World Series at Dodger Stadium finally ended after 18 innings of baseball off the bat of Freddie Freeman. The tilt resulted in a tie for the longest game in World Series history by innings. It is also in the record books as the second-longest by time, clocking in at 6 hours and 39 minutes. This ball was pitched by Blake Treinen to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the top of the seventh inning for a ground ball single into center field. Guerrero scored in the next at bat off a Bo Bichette single, which put the Jays ahead by one. Shohei Ohtani tied the game in the next half of the inning at 5-5, and that is where the score would remain until the bottom of the 18th inning, more than three hours later.
Ernie Clement breaks MLB Single-Season Postseason Hits Record
November 1, 2025
In the 2025 postseason, Ernie Clement broke the MLB postseason hits record for a single season with 30 hits (in 77 plate appearances). In Game 7, his three-hit effort put him past the previous record holder, Randy Arozarena (29 hits in the 2020 postseason with 86 plate appearances). Clement’s teammate, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. actually moved into a tie with Arozarena in the 2025 postseason (29 hits in 89 plate appearances). This ball was pitched in the top of the eighth inning of Game 4 at Dodger Stadium by Jack Dreyer to Clement, who singled it past first base for his 24th hit of the 2025 postseason.
Although the World Series did not go the Blue Jays’ way, it was so thrilling to watch the boys in blue compete. Thank you to the Blue Jays for helping us to grow our collection and preserve Canadian baseball history through these artifacts. We cannot wait to see the Jays compete in 2026, in their 50th season!
