Welcome to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum
Virtual Exhibition:

Who won the pearson cup?

Within the Collection of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum is a silver trophy which was traded back and forth between Toronto and Montréal from 1978-1986. The Pearson Cup, with its image of former Canadian Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson etched onto the front, was awarded to the winner of the annual exhibition contest between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Montréal Expos. The tradition, however, was short-lived, being played only 10 times total.

In this exhibition we’ll look at the story behind the Pearson Cup, including details of each game, and what eventually led to its demise.
